Bookclub-in-a-Box wants to profile your book club!

Book clubs can be formed by all sorts of people: lifelong friends, colleagues, local libraries, or favourite bookstores. And while the end goal is usually the same — to enjoy a lively discussion about a great work of fiction or non-fiction — there are thousands of unique book clubs out there that come together for all sorts of reasons.

For example, last year in Evansville, Indiana, the state hospital initiated a book club called “Chapter Challenge,” which promotes literacy and other skills among its patients; and at the University of Toronto, you can join a class called “A Unique Book Club: Words and Images,” where members compare contemporary novels to related works of art (the class culminates in a field trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario).

Bookclub-in-a-Box wants to hear about your unique book club, and profile our favourites in an upcoming blog series. What was the inspiration for starting your book club? Do you incorporate food, films, field trips, or other bonus features into your meetings? Has your book club and its members had a meaningful impact on your life? We want to hear about it! Contact us at laura@bookclubinabox.com with your stories, and if your book club is chosen, we’ll let you know. Every entry we feature on our site will get a $5 voucher for any BIAB product, so get those entries in! Deadline is open.
